| Sociologist and professor of Secondary Education, songwriter for several emblematic groups of the Movida madrileña, and writer for diverse programs and television series, after years of combining his work in the audiovisual field with his work in education, Lago decided to devote his energies exclusively to teaching and literature. Several of his books center on the activity of reading and writing, such as The Sand Calendar (2000), Books for Thinking – Books for Living (2001), and The Errand of Writing (2004). Author of several short story collections, translations and adaptations for children and youths, his most personal work includes The Word Bazaar (2001), a sui generis approach to magical realism, and an apocryphal journal, Suicide Pilots: Diary of Children Who Did Not Know What the Twin Towers Were Until They Were Brought Down (2003). |
