MARCELO COHEN
ARGENTINA, 1951

Marcelo Cohen has worked as an arts reviewer in Argentina and Spain, where he lived between 1975 and 1995. He subsequently embarked upon a prolific career as a translator. He has translated works by Christopher Marlowe,T.S. Eliot, Henry James and William Burroughs into Spanish, and has coordinated forty Latin American and Spanish writers in a project to translate the complete works of William Shakespeare into Spanish. Combining the fantastic with the judicious and painstaking use of language Cohen’s oeuvre is one of the most original in contemporary Argentine literature.
