Marta Carnicero an industrial engineer and professor of technology, has had a great love of cooking ever since she was a child. Her gastronomic restlessness led her to study in the prestigious Hofmann School of Hotel and Catering and to take various cooking courses. Whenever she can, she travels in search of new dishes and cultures. Presently she is a regular contributor to the written press and radio (Via Lliure, on RAC1; Word of Mouth on COM Radio) and has participated in television programs such as The Good Life (CityTV).
In 2004 she published in Catalan her first cookbook, Pass Me the Recipe, a collection of recipes that she prepares for friends and family. As a result of the success of this book, Columna Edicions commissioned her to write Thermomix Cooking. In it she shows us how to prepare a multitude of recipes with a minimum of effort and without any supervision thanks to a small electrical wonder whose sales in Spain alone exceed 100,000 units a year. Both titles enjoyed several weeks on bestseller lists.
With her latest book, From Cuscus to Sushi, the author, emulating Phileas Fogg by Julio Verne, travels around the world to offer us a selection of recipes seasoned with the curiosities and customs particular to each country in the preparation and presentation of dishes.
At the moment she is preparing, in addition to The Thermomix Cooking, a very special recipe book whose aim is to make the preparation of simple dishes and desserts enjoyable for the youngest members of
the family.
