Isidoro Blaisten is held to be one of the greatest Argentinian short story writers. His inimitable humour, his masterly treatment of colloquial language and brilliant verbal inventiveness create a literary space unique in its freshness of language and dynamism of imagination. Blaisten knows how to get the most out of the trivial and mundane. He was a member of the Argentinian Academy of Letters since 2001 and a corresponding member of the Spanish
Royal Academy. |
